Born in Winnipeg and raised in Fort McMurray, Kellie learned the value of hard work and the importance of small business from her father who owned a construction company and built a significant part of the city during the early days of Canada's oil sands. Kellie was first elected in 2011 and is the MP for Simcoe - Grey ON. After her win in 2011, Kellie was appointed as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development and in 2015 was named Minister of Labour and Minister for the Status of Women. She's a paediatric orthopaedic surgeon who has maintained her medical credentials while serving in politics.
