Our sincerest thanks for supporting the Conservative Party of Canada. Below you will find a description of each volunteer role. Some volunteer roles are needed at all times, and some are specifically for during the election. Please select those that you are most interested in. If you're not sure or have other ideas please select General Volunteer.
The Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke EDA is comprised of volunteers from all walks of life, each has a role to play, each is very important. It is with volunteers like you that we are stronger. If you have any questions please email us at [email protected], or use the "Contact" button at the bottom of this page.
Some examples of our community outreach volunteer opportunities at all times are:
- Doorknocking/Canvassing: Volunteers are needed during the election period, but also in advance of the election - volunteers door-knock or phone to identify supporters and encourage people to get involved and to vote.
- Events: We have regular events and fundraisers throughout the year, for example, our monthly Pub Night, as well as hosting tables at community events such as the Saanich Fair. We need a team to help plan events, greet attendees, hand out literature, and - for some events - to set up tables, chairs, tents, and signage.
- Communications: We need volunteers whe are interested in social media and connecting with people, are engaged in the news and current events, or have graphics or other skills such as writing or editing.
During an election period, we need people for:
- Doorknocking/Canvassing: going door-to-door or phoning to share information and build support, with a special focus on providing constituents information about the Candidate and the Party, and enouraging constituents to vote. If you are a "people person", this may be for you.
- Campaign events: Teams are needed for literature distribution, sign waving (typically on a roadside or overpass) to build visibility for the Candidate, and other events for community engagement
- Sign team: We need people to deliver lawn signs to supporter households, and to build, install, and remove large roadside signs.
- Voting Day activities: Scrutineers (at the polls), drivers to help people get to the polls, phoning to encourage constituents to vote.
General Volunteers: If there are other roles or tasks that you would like to explore, click on General Volunteer. Each of us has skills that collectively will help make our local Conservative Association stronger. No job is too small!
We look forward to meeting you!
Thank you,
The ESS Volunteer Team.
