Join us at our May Pub Night/Town Hall, as we welcome MP Garnett Genuis and MP Jeff Kibble, who will be discussing MP Genuis' new private members' bill: "Care, not Coercion".
Since the Liberals rolled out medically assisted dying (MAID) in 2016, it has been the subject of many controversies, among them its overprescription to veterans and seniors who are often viewed, from a financial perspective, as "burdensome" to the state. MPs Genuis and Kibble want to see an end to this sort of coercion and disrespect of our veterans, seniors, and loved ones.
Genuis' private members' bill, would, among other things, force physicians to prioritize real, substantial care options by making it illegal for them to recommend MAID unless the patient is specifically seeking MAID.

We recognize that this is an issue that has touched many in our community.
If you have experienced, or have a family member who has experienced, being offered MAID when you (or they) did not seek it out and wish to share the story at the event, please send us a synopsis (100-250 words) to Luka at [email protected] at least 2 days in advance of the May 12th event.
Doors open at 5:30, discussion begins at 6:00
