As our island is recognized as one of the most beautiful places in the world, and a recognized destination for outdoor activities I realize it is our responsibility to ensure it stays that way. As a Conservative I believe that we must transition to a greener economy, but we must do it using a pragmatic, balanced approach.

We must keep our present economy strong while we invest in the opportunities that new clean industries will bring. A crippled economy is not one that innovates. It is possible to have a strong economy and a clean environment and this starts with getting government out of the way of innovators and entrepreneurs so that the jobs of today and the industries of tomorrow can grow and thrive together.
