Nominations for candidates are now open

December 03, 2020

It may seem like the last federal election has barely finished, and here we are talking about nominations for the next election! But, with Justin Trudeau’s Liberals in a minority government supported by the NDP, we know that we have to be ready for a federal election at any time.

And, when an election is called, we will be ready in every riding across Canada with a strong team that’s well-prepared, well-funded, and set up to win.

The National Council of the Conservative Party of Canada has recently completed a revision of the “Rules and Procedures for Candidate Nominations.” The biggest change that affects us at this time, is found here:

"Where neither an MP was elected by means of a by-election nor the Electoral District is held by an MP, the Electoral District is Opened as of the date of the adoption of these Rules by National Council."

This means that candidate expressions of interest are currently being accepted in every non-held riding.

Have you considered being a candidate for the Conservative Party of Canada in Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke?

If it’s time for you to answer the call to public service, please reach out to us for more information.

And, if it comes to a nomination contest, all members vote to select the candidate in their riding.

The Nomination Rules, and other important Party documents, are found in the Governing Documents section here

We will provide updates as the nomination selection process here in Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke develops.
